JohnHart is on a distinguished road
Standaard Electrical and Controls (Design) Engineer - Eygelshoven

“What a difference a day a makes.

Twenty-four little hours”.

And so the song goes….

You probably spend at least a third of your day in work mode. Getting ready for work. Commuting to work. Doing actual work. Preparing for tomorrow’s work. Heading home from work.

So, if you spend so much of your time doing work-related things, you probably want to make sure you enjoy it. Right?

Maybe the project you were working on has been put on hold.

Perhaps that development opportunity you were promised has suddenly disappeared overnight.

It’s possible there’s simply no money to bankroll the new stuff. Innovation is no longer an option.

Work mode suddenly feels like a drag. You lose interest. Boredom kicks in. Your focus gone.

You could stick around. Wait a little longer. See if things change.

Or you could read on.

What you’ll love about working in the Engineering team at A-Gas Europe

This is a brand-spanking new role. Nobody’s resigned. Nobody’s left because they’re bored, underdeveloped or unfocused. Meaning your core strengths will be front and centre of this role. The rest will be built around you. Leaving plenty of room for development.

You’ll be pleased to know that our backers want us to build more equipment and upgrade and improve engineering across the European business. They’ve made a multi-million-pound investment to help us achieve this.

You’ll be working on CAPEX projects that our existing team simply don’t have the time to get to. Things like developing new processes for fixed processing plant and taking prototypes to full-scale deployment. These are projects which are gearing us up for growth. Europe-wide. Those 8 hours are suddenly going to fly-by.

You’ll play a key role across the entire project lifecycle. From technical kick-off, conceptual and detailed design through to build and commissioning. Your design strengths will be utilised but you’re not going to be restricted to playing a smaller part.

What you’ll get in return

We offer a competitive starting salary. Help us achieve our company goals and you’ll enjoy a profit-related bonus paid at intervals throughout the year.

We value further education and encourage our team to add to their skills. You’ll get the opportunity to apply for study support if you want it.

We’ll make a 5% contribution to your pension scheme. If you decide to contribute, then we’ll add our National Insurance saving to bump up your payment.

We’ll invite you to annual events during the summer and at Christmas, as well as on-site socials.

You’ll get a paid day off to support a community project or charity of your choice.

You’ll open a door to European travel and wider career opportunities in the UK, Netherlands and Germany.

Who you are

This is probably going to be your 2nd or 3rd career move. If you have more experience to offer, then we welcome it. We simply want to make sure you get enough development out of this opportunity.

You’ve got practical, hands-on electrical and control design experience. PLC programming, using AutoCAD or a similar package, reading P&ID drawings might be familiar day-to-day activities to you.

You’ve managed or had significant involvement in an electrical project. It doesn’t matter how big or small the project. The important thing is you have a good appreciation of what it takes to drive a project from concept stage through to commissioning.

You’re got a positive mindset, heaps of energy and enthusiasm and are keen to make an impact in a fast-growing, European business.

And who are we….?

We’re the European region of A-Gas, a global gases business with significant private equity backing. We have a market leading position and are growing globally. Our aim is to be the dominant player in reclamation refrigerants.

Today we’re represented across the globe with ambition to treble our current size in Europe over the next three years.

Which means huge opportunity for the engineers in our business.

What are you waiting for?

Apply today and let’s start talking about where you want to take your career.

Requirements

We'd love to hear from you if you have experience of:

- electrical and control design;

- PLC programming, preferably Allen Bradley

- managing or playing a key role in electrical projects;

- AutoCAD or a similar drawing package;

- reading P&ID drawings.

If you've got an understanding of EU Regulations, and some basic awareness of Functional Safety or ATEX Regulations that would also be helpful, although not essential.
