For the Engineering Services department in Amsterdam we are looking for a
Civil Project Engineer
Amsterdam Engineering Services department is seeking a Civil Engineer to work within its team of engineers in the execution of CAPEX projects. Projects will include new construction as well as modifications of existing production facilities. The successful candidate should have expertise on Civil and Steel structure Engineering.
Tasks and responsibilities
- To prepare studies for change and expansion projects for plant on site
- To create draft designs, calculations and cost estimates for projects in civil engineering, concrete structures/foundations and steel structures
- Control of costs of the contractors and validate changes in the own working field
- Provide support to project team during construction and commissioning.
- Keep abreast of regulations to meet legal requirements with respect to safety, health and environment
- The Civil Engineer acts as a point of contact for queries regarding structural aspects of all pipe bridges, buildings, supporting structures and also serves as pile bearing load manager
Qualifications
- Technical University degree
- Preferably three years of experience in a Civil Engineering role
- Thorough understanding of engineering and construction productivity measurement
- Basic knowledge of engineering document control, materials management, procurement, receiving, warehousing, etc.
- Ability to calculate strength, stiffness and fit-for-use calculations in the civil and building discipline
- Knowledge of the permitting process of the authorities
- Ability to judge the quality of engineering and construction documents
- Ability to structure the work packages for contractors
- Proficiency in both English and Dutch
- Knowledge of construction safety requirements and measurement
- Permitted to work in the EU
