As Design Director you’ll be in charge of our design strategy and philosophy, ensuring we stick to our DNA and human centric design principles. You will get to combine your excellent eye for good design with solid leadership skills and good business understanding.
The position will be based in Ĺlesund or Amsterdam and is part of the extended leadership team.

Main responsibilities
- Lead and maintain a strong design team, with needed competence and capacity
- Carry the flag for design/innovation within department but also across company
- Drive the trend and user specific insights agenda and make insights as an integrated part of the development process
- Drive sustainability topics within design
- Managed optimization of product design and mechanical function, manufacturability, and handling
- Overall responsible for the Stokke Design Guidelines
- Experiment with new materials and technologies to impact future product offering*
- Reporting in accordance with agreed structure
Desired background & competence
We’re looking for a candidate that ideally has the following background, but at the same time we like to be challenged. To us the right attitude is more important than your present skill set.
- Master’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent
- Considerable work experience from product/design development
- Leadership experience on a strategic level
- Experience from leading across core, adjacent and transformational initiatives*
- Relevant working experience with a proven track record in industrialization of products within an international environment
- Fluent in English
