Global L&D Advisor

The role and its responsibilities
This role forms part of the Academy team in the Global Centre of Expertise for Learning & Development, which is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Academy team is responsible for the design and development of global L&D processes and the policies, initiatives and programs in the area of learning standards, methodologies, measurement and innovation.
Your core objective is to pursue continuous improvement in the area of adult learning and development with a clear eye on innovation, future trends and technological developments.

In doing so you identify and work on key initiatives that supports the global L&D community in making the next step in learning excellence. And with this source the most appropriate global vendors and service provider, while ensuring that they meet needs, are cost efficiently and according to current best practices..

Further, you establish key performance metrics to measure process and program effectiveness and the impact of L&D on business results.
At all times you apply your expertise in full alignment with AkzoNobel global priorities and learning standards, and you actively promote the Academy as the central hub for companywide learning.

All of this requires you to build strong relationships with Regional L&D Managers, Functional Faculty Leads and HR Leaders, acting as a trusted advisor as we further standardize learning processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

As such, this role demands a strategic and analytical ability to anticipate and manage change, while implementing pragmatic solutions aligned with business and HR strategy.


Job requirements / Candidate profile

To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:

• Bachelors/ Master’s degree, ideally in Business Administration, Psychology or HR, and at least four years of experience in an L&D role at both a strategic and operational level;
• Experience in Global L&D projects that impacted more than one country/region;
• Knowledge and experience of reporting and measurement processes for L&D programs in terms of external benchmarking, including keeping track of trends and developments in L&D;
• Experience in identifying, selecting and commercially negotiating with external partners;
• knowledge and experience in the use of Learning Management Systems is plus;
• Excellent influencing, presentational and interpersonal skills, including fluent written and spoken English.
