Within this context, your mission in this role is to manage the design, development and sourcing of world-class leadership and management development solutions for the CoE Learning & Development, in order to support organization change. In doing so you ensure that the leadership development portfolio is impactful, effective and relevant to both participants and the business, and aligns with the overall integrated talent management approach.

Global Leadership Development Manager


The role and its responsibilities
Working from the AkzoNobel Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, you manage the design, development and sourcing of the entire leadership development curriculum in full alignment to company strategy and priorities. In doing so you draw on a complete range of methods including diagnostic tools, management training, leadership and talent development programs etc.

Thus you identify the most appropriate partners and delivery methodology for programs, ensuring they run efficiently and according to current best practices. You then deliver effective training as required and support the development of internal trainers. To achieve this you work with the Regional L&D Managers to ensure smooth and consistent rollout of the curriculum across the globe.

Within this process you develop effective communications to promote leadership development programs to potential participants and key internal stakeholders. You also support HR Business Partners with best practices recommendations for ad hoc interventions while acting as a change agent to build awareness and facilitate successful process, behavior, and culture change.

At all times you seek to build strong relationships with key global partners (educational institutions). You also manage vendors and service providers and monitor performance during delivery, establishing key performance metrics and taking corrective actions where necessary.

As this is an international role you will travel for approximately 20% of your time.

Job requirements / Candidate profile
To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:
• Master’s Degree, ideally in Management, Business Administration or Psychology, and at least six years of experience in managing Leadership Development programs/curriculum in global organization at both a strategic and operational level;
• Up to date knowledge of best practice in the leadership development field, with qualifications in the use of psychometric tools and coaching a plus;
• Ability to facilitate, coach and effectively deliver training within an international and multicultural environment;
• Proven track record in identifying, selecting and commercially negotiating with external partners to develop world class learning experiences in support of leadership development;
• Collaborative and engaging problem solver and influencer who can develop themselves and others;
• Strong communication, presentational and interpersonal communication skills, including fluent English (written and oral).
