Support and guide key Global Business Services projects
AkzoNobel operates a forward thinking global Global Business Services (GBS) organization. GBS is committed to recruiting, retaining and developing the talent that will drive our business success. Our GBS organization comprises 5 Regional Delivery Departments, 4 Global Process Owners and a Customer, Demand and Supply (CD&S) unit. The Project Management Office is part of CD&S and supports all project activities for GBS.
Within this context, your mission as Project Management Officer (PMO), also called Project Scheduler, is to support and guide key global projects. The scope consists of a couple dozen projects, mainly in the HR or Finance space with a total spend of several millions. You will enable transparency on project progress, both on the planning as financially, giving the leadership the opportunity to optimize the project portfolio in the best possible way. This role would give you the opportunity to further develop your PM skills and grow into a role as Junior PM.

The role and its responsibilities
Working from our global headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, you provide overall project support to GBS projects that are part of the global GBS Project Portfolio.
Thus you prepare and facilitate Board and Steerco meetings (actions, minutes). You also monitor project progress and address and escalate issues and delays. This includes tracking and reporting on spend versus budget and addressing (potential) issues.
Further, you ensure that the project follows the minimum standards for project management, including templates, and you support with all the administrative activities that enable the project to run in structured way towards project success. You also support the development and maintenance of sharepoint folders for projects.

Candidate profile
- To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:
- Master’s degree and 3-5 years working experience (not necessarily in GBS);
- Project experience and PM(O) certification is required;
- Demonstrable analytical skills and financial reporting experience;
Excellent Excel and MS project skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal and influencing skills including a high level of written and spoken English.
